About

Our Story

Our journey started in Chandigarh in 2023. That is where we first met. Both of us were working at a very reputed test prep company: Pardeep Swami as a Quant trainer, and Rahul Kalyan as a dual-certified trainer. Dual-certified in title, but given the fact that Pardeep was practically a math genius, Rahul pretty much stuck to verbal, taking math sessions only when needed.

We got along really well. We complemented each other. Whatever one lacked, other had in spades, and vice versa. We would stay till late after we both were done with our classes and would have long conversations. One of these conversations ventured into the state of most of these test prep companies.

One common grouse that we had was how many restrictions were put on trainers (faculty) and the classes—how a particular topic had to be covered in twenty minutes and the next topic in seven minutes, and five minutes for the drill, etc.; how every session had a pre-set number of topics and questions. And if one deviated from that, you got a call from the QC department. Most teachers lost their flair in the classes as the sessions became monotonous. Students, on the other hand, were not too keen on this off-the-rack strategy. They wanted personalized classes. It did not make sense to spend two hours on something that a student was super good at. And it was downright criminal to spend only twenty minutes on something that a student struggled at. But those were the guidelines we worked under. That is where the seed was planted.
Eventually, we both left for different organizations in different cities. But that passion to provide quality in teaching and bespoke sessions in content never left us. We both stayed in touch. And finally this year, we decided to take the plunge. We said to ourselves, “Why don’t we go all in?” It was time to put our money where our mouth was. No more of these wholesale classes. No more feeding people with the same proverbial slop. And with that goal in mind, we founded SATlysis.

And that, folks, is our story
