The ACT (American College Testing) is a standardized exam used primarily for college admissions in the United States. It is typically taken by high school students in their junior or senior year who are planning to apply to colleges or universities, especially in the U.S. The ACT assesses a student’s academic skills in English, Math, Reading, and Science, with an optional Writing section. Students take the ACT to strengthen their college applications, qualify for scholarships, or meet requirements for specific academic programs. Although many institutions have adopted test-optional policies, a strong ACT score can still enhance a student’s chances of admission or eligibility for merit-based aid.
